Who we are

Doha Kendo Club, moving forward as Hekisuikan.

Hekisuikan is the next chapter of Doha Kendo Club—built on the same floor, the same friendships, and more than a decade of kendo in Qatar.

Our members come from Qatar and around the world to practise the Japanese martial art of the sword. We sharpen technique, test our character, and look after every person who shares the floor.

01

Respect

We bow in, look after our training partners, and leave the floor better than we found it.

02

Discipline

Kendo rewards honest repetition. We return, correct, repeat, and grow.

03

Community

Beginners and experienced kendoka share one floor. Everyone has something to learn—and something to give.

How we got here

Kendo has had a home in Doha since 2013.

What began as a place for a small group to train has grown into an international dojo. Along the way, public demonstrations at Aspire and events with the Embassy of Japan have helped more people in Qatar meet kendo for the first time.
